buildingSMART International is an international, non-governmental and non-profit organisation. It defines the Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) exchange format for the BIM data exchange in the building industry and is represented in the German speaking countries by the buildingSMART e.V.
The interest group organises conferences on a regular basis; the first international event in 2020 will be held in Oslo, Norway from 8 to 11 June. The content will cover the development of open digital standards to improve design, construction and management of facilities in the built environment.
